I just got off the phone with a very nice lady by the name of Mari. She works at
Hawkinson Kia and contacted me after reading a few of my posts, she wanted a few tips on how to manage her Facebook account. While we spoke about a few different things she could do to build her fan base there is one tip in particular…

I know there is a great interest about this part of our business. Remember everybody, the internet is the new media to advertise our goods. It isn't even that new anymore. Let's be realistic there was a time not to long ago, where the newspaper was the main media for advertising. NOT ANYMORE! FOLKS WAKE UP!!
Everybody has a computer or access to one. Can you guess where the customer is looking at cars not the newspaper!
My point to all this is that the future is the internet and if…

They went far far away ....professional sales people don't work for minimum wage, and they don't work for 15-18% of the front of any deal. The sales pros that I used to work with were stronger than death and greedier than Midas and everytime their pay plan was penciled back they moved closer to the door. and then finally out. We are getting to the point where (depending upon the store's location and volume) the internet department and the sales department are going to become one in the same.…

I read an interesting article from Howard Polirer from Autotrader about the lack of performance in the internet department. Why have one? This person stated:"Why not have your entire sales staff have a 100% of exposure with the customer? Jared Hamilton in the same report is the president of Drivingsales.com stated that 10% of your sales staff handles 90% of your customers and it is true. So why have an Internet department? What makes this staff so different from your actual sales staff? Most of…

Cash flow and capital are what drive the profits of the dealers who properly control their BHPH business model. However, sufficient amounts of both are hard to come by in the current economic environment. Increasing average ACV is constantly devouring capital. According to NABD, “in 2008, the average cash in deal exceeded $5,000 for the first time in the last 10 years, according to industry benchmarks.” With more dollars going out for higher ACV vehicles and with down payments remaining static,…

Why Your Service Department Is Costing You Car Deals
December 11th, 2009
It is said that while the sales department sells a customer the first car, the service department sells them the next two. Unfortunately, the inverse of this is true as well, and the service department can just as easily lose sales. It’s not that they do this intentionally; in fact, they have probably maintained the same standards for years - which is exactly the problem.
The market has changed. Consumers…

Dealer Websites, iPhone | Monday December 7, 2009 at 10:16 pm Quick story we got in over the weekend I have to share with you guys.
One of our dealers out of Seattle, Washington downloaded our app last week from iTunes. Over the weekend he received a lead while he was out of the office. He jumped into his AutoRevo iPhone and located the lead and since the phone number was right there he simply touched it to make the call. From that simple act of calling the prospect, he sold the…

Dealers: Get More Bang for Less Buck
For service, direct mail coupons still work better than any form of advertising – even in 2009. While consumers have access to all sorts of media, they all have one mailbox and it is located right in front of their house and they check it every day. When you look at the tracking and return on investment you can actually measure with direct mail coupons. It works and you can prove it everyday. Here are five rules to live by when it comes to service…

The best time to reach biz owners is between 7 am - 9 before their day starts...
usually the successful ones are having coffee and planning their day - give them a call and set your appoinments you will never see a person with a full calendar looking for money. Make 20 calls every
morning to stay ahead of the competition ...and considering working 6 days instead of 5 an extra day to
give you tha competitive edge.
this is good for times you want to turbo your…
