GMAC awarded CEO de Molina $11.6 million in 2008

I just read an article in Automotive News where the CEO for GMAC was awarded $11.6 Million for the job he performed in 2008, twice what he received in 2007. Think that was his cut of the $6 Billion in bailout money in December?

NADA Valuation Guides

Every year it's the same old story. Dealers close out the old year by reducing inventory then start the new year replacing it. And many find themsleves in the midst of a buying frenzy midway through the 1st quarter. It's not a difficult trend to predict and for as long as I can remember, it has been part of our business cycle. But what IS hard to predict is the NADA valuation guide. And unfortunately that little yellow book affects the P&L for all of us who work in automotive finance.

The New ZR1 Leaves the Big Dogs on the Porch!

The Daytona 500 finally sold out all of their seats just two days before the start of the Great American Race that concluded with a soggy ending to an otherwise exciting race. I am tired of the cold and snow every year about this time and especially so this year, so when Daytona comes, I get excited because I know spring is soon to follow.

Growing up in Indy I have learned to truly appreciate horsepower and all aspects of motorsports, particularly during the month of May. I have endured the yea… Continue

Finance Leads - The Wild West

Anyone who has purchased sales leads can personally attest to the fact that it is like running a business in the old days of the Wild West. It is an unregulated business where the laws of capitalism rule the playing field. Don't get me wrong. I am a true capitalist in every sense of the word but, the chaos in this industry today is simply not good for business.

Dealers buy sales leads from lead providers with lists of prospective customers who typically need help with financing. This is an inve… Continue

Thanks, Tom. She and I have been burning the midnight oil to get it to this point, that is for sure. We are trying to work through other applications like the status updates (similar to FB) and the polls - both of which are on my own page right now. We'll keep working on it. Our goal last Wednesday was to get to 500 members by the end of this week (10 days) and we are 2/3 of the way there. Thanks for your posts!
