"I personally prefer RouteOne because of it's simplicity. We already have a CRM and Desking tool, so we don't use DealerTrack for any of that. The Desking tool "pushes" the deal to RouteOne. Then we touch it up and send it off.…"
"First of all, you are welcome! This is a great forum and we have all gained something off of this site, so we all try and give back when we can. Your situation is complicated, but I like the fact that you are looking for ways to increase business…"
"John, I think at this point it's too late to hire an F&I manager. Unless you are willing to pay them a big salary... which is doubtful and wouldn't make sense. Having done the job for 11 years, I can tell you that unless you have at…"
"I think it depends on your area, and what most other dealers are using. We are in rural WI, and cars.com just doesn't have as much of a market as autotrader. Most of the dealers in the area aren't on cars.com, so customers all check out…"
"We are just in the process of finding a new CRM. VinSolutions is on our radar, they do a great demo. But, a couple of local dealers have said that the demo is the best part of their deal. The other main one we are comparing it to is IZMO's…"
"We only take $1000 per deal maximum on a card, just to minimize the risks of chargebacks and keep down the fees. The problem is that with the internet driving all of our sales so much, fewer of our customers are local. People are sometimes showing…"
"We are one of the dealerships that got "The Letter". Our DP says he actually feels liberated!!! He also says that there is absolutely no way he would have signed the "Participation Letter". We've been putting up with…"
FinCo's "BuyHere-PayThere" program is a good option for you to consider. No sign-up fees, upfront costs or minimums. All legal and compliance issues and everything associated with loan servicing is managed for you. Please give…"
"First and formost do you have the cash or available credit lines to become a BHPH dealer. Second you should have some guidelines established for managment control, after that its a matter of experience.
I have never been a proponent of credit…"
I have been in the BHPH business for 10+ years, both on the lot and as a consultant for CarBiz. I am currently General Manager of 2 dealerships in northern Illinois. We are connected to a full line GM store. I would be happy to share any…"
"Scott, The CarBiz Consulting Group offers a BHPH start-up consulting package which provides everything needed to put your plan into action at a very minimal upfront cost. The package includes all the policies and procedures for inventory, sales,…"
"Scott, I have been in BHPH for 19 years. I have operated 2 different operations that were on different ends of the BHPH spectrum. One of those operations maintained 2500 loans with a 17 million dollar portfolio. I started my own model 5 years ago…"
"Thanks Don. I'll shoot you an email in a second. I know Greg Goebel likes your LHPH program, but with all of the different laws in different states, we really need to look at the differences closely. I am not opposed to using a consulting group…"
Started selling cars Aug 1, 1999 at Shakopee Chev on the SW edge of the Twin Cities, MN. Moved into special finance about a year later. After 4 years of special finance, moved to Shakopee Chrysler Jeep Dodge to be the Finance Director. In March of 2008, the Denny Hecker group bought the dealership out and did not re-hire most of the managers. The rest were gone in a month or two. Luckily, Shakopee Chevrolet was ready to upgrade the position and re-hired me.
