I am currently one of three owner-operators at Reed Brothers Automotive in Rockville, Maryland. I've been in the car business since...well, since I retired from the Air Force.
I served in The United States Air Force Band in Washington, DC for 30 years before retiring in the top enlisted grade of Chief Master Sergeant in July 2006. I was initially hired as an alto saxophonist with the Concert Band, but later went on to work in the Band's Music Production Section.
I later became the first female Chief of Music Production. I was also the first woman to hold the position of Chief Enlisted Manager for The United States Air Force Band, a position I held from 2003-2006.
I have more than 30 years experience in Music Preparation and have provided professional music copying and engraving services for some of the largest publishers in the world and hundreds of performers from the radio, television, film, and recording industries. While in The United States Air Force Band, I prepared parts and scores for more than 200 prominent artists, such as Roy Clark, Wynonna Judd, Chaka Khan, Keiko Matsui, Rita Coolidge, Kirk Whalum, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Rita Coolidge, Patti Page, and Melba Moore. I currently work on-call as an outsource music engraver and copyist for The United States Air Force Band in Washington, DC.
What I’ve been able to accomplish is the result the combination of my education and the experiences I’ve had. And for me, the most challenging and rewarding roles were the ones that others didn’t want. These were the positions that I gravitated to because of the experience they would bring.
Returning to my family's car business is the next stepping stone in my life. My goal is to explore new ways to push the online marketing and technology envelope with today's consumer and market place. My job involves a collaboration of finding the right technologies to compliment our business while partnering with organizations who enhance our reputation.
