Posted on May 23, 2013 at 12:40am 6 Comments

I am selling cars in Ct. and would like to find out what is a good inexpensive warranty that can cover all my inventory for a determined time and mileage. Cover at a minimum at least mandatory Connecticut state warranty.

CARFAX HURTS DEALERS WITH THIS STUPID "CARFOX" CHARACTER WITH VIDEO!!!

Posted on May 27, 2010 at 2:00pm 0 Comments

It is a shame that after all the financial support that dealers have given to make CARFAX what they are today to put an additional doubt in a customer's mind with this baseless feature that can lessen the value of a car. I can understand if there were an accident or odometer discrepencies reported on a vehicle that is extremely important for both the consumer and the dealer to understand the value of the car. But instead of wasting time and money on this nonsense of a "CARFOX" character…

I LOVE SPECIAL FINANCE CUSTOMERS AND USED CARS!!!!

Just an observation. I am looking at my showroom floor and I my salesperson with Dr.Shapiro and his wife looking at a brand new car. The other end of the showroom I see Mrs Rodriguez and her 4 kids running around the showroom making noise and a mess. Mrs. Rodriguez is looking at a 2005 Chevy van and she has bad credit. Guess who I am going to cater to? Mrs. Rodriguez with a 620 score or Dr.Shapiro with an 800 score. Well Mrs.Rodriguez because she is going to allow me to make a fair profit,…

Should the Internet Department Be Abolished? Part 2

Posted on December 30, 2009 at 10:00pm 1 Comment

I know there is a great interest about this part of our business. Remember everybody, the internet is the new media to advertise our goods. It isn't even that new anymore. Let's be realistic there was a time not to long ago, where the newspaper was the main media for advertising. NOT ANYMORE! FOLKS WAKE UP!!

Everybody has a computer or access to one. Can you guess where the customer is looking at cars not the newspaper!

My point to all this is that the future is the internet and if… Continue

Should the Internet Department Be Abolished? Where are the professional salespeople?

Posted on December 28, 2009 at 7:24pm 29 Comments

I read an interesting article from Howard Polirer from Autotrader about the lack of performance in the internet department. Why have one? This person stated:"Why not have your entire sales staff have a 100% of exposure with the customer? Jared Hamilton in the same report is the president of Drivingsales.com stated that 10% of your sales staff handles 90% of your customers and it is true. So why have an Internet department? What makes this staff so different from your actual sales staff? Most of… Continue

Charlie, Nice to hear from you and thanks for the kind words. Tier 4 franchise - that's a low tier! :-) What are we talking about - Suzuki, Mitsu, Smart? The only way that you can really communicate with most dealers is with a financial model and business plan or case.  I always start with the credit demographics of either what is walking into or contacting the showroom.  If more than half is nonprime, then unless you have a plan to work them, you will be working more than half of the dealership's opportunities incorrectly, which also upsets your customers. Determine what percentage fall into the prime tier, and then from T1 (near prime) all the way down to T4 (toughest subprime credit...barely above BHPH).

From there, I analyze the inventory and how it fits the finance company programs that you currently have available for the various credit tiers.  That typically shows that you don't have anything to sell, or, shows the need to concentrate more on the subprime tiers and shows the potential for incremental additional gross profit.  THAT usually gets someone's attention.  THEN  you must show a business plan on how you are going to capture it.

(...or you could have them call me... :-))

[Keep me posted and best of success.  In the future, the most reliable way to reach me is at G@GregGoebel.com]

Best regards,

GG

The only thing that Carsinia cannot do and Autofunds can do is the vehicle valuations and it's always possible to do that directly through kbb or nada websites. We are planning on integrating with them in the near future. We recommend Okidata 320/321 for dot matrix printers but we will work with any printer you have - the setup may take a bit longer (you can setup the forms your self with our form wizard or you may fax it to us after every print and e can fine tune it). Epson and Okidata are fairly close printers, so I would not anticipate more than a week for your forms to be setup. Please contact us through our website http://carsinia.com for demo credentials to get demo credentials and see the deal wizard and form wizard features. Thank you!

Charlie H...I've owned 3 different new car stores in the last 25 years in addition to my 3 BHPH stores and Collision Center. I closed my last new car store this summer. I do get it. Sorry if it seems like I got on your case. No offense meant.
I'll be more careful in the future. Sometimes I get carried away.

Frankie,
You are out of the car business? Why don't you call me once in a while? Do you know I have been unemployed for over 3 months. This is a great sight. You should check it out at least once a week.

There is another alternative to Credit Acceptance -DPS is an inexpensive web based alternative to traditional in-house (BHPH) programs. DPS not only services from 1 contract to 1000, DPS can sell your contracts in as little as 45 days! from as little as 1 contract to 1000 or more. Why pay big fee's to a lender when DPS can show you how to maximize your Profits and keep it! www.dealerportfolioservices.com

Right. use your personal strength to get the cards and you dont need to tell them you are going to max them out. If you have the credit you can get a card with a 100 or 50k limit and then you draw it out. If they ask how you are going to pay for the card, it is no different than any other card application. Show your income from your "job" and get the card on the strength of your past history. If you have good credit you probably already have some other cards and can show history. You dont want a "loan". You want a credit card with a high limit to accomodate your monthly needs. Once you get the card you can do whatever you want with the money.
