I’m looking to have our websites become more like a conversation/blog with content giving helpful information to consumers about how to buy/service a vehicle and how easy it is to do business with us. Any thoughts on this strategy and more specifically any examples of dealers sites that currently do a good job of this?

We have hired a professional video company to add some quality video to our website. We bring our customers in once a month with pizzas and pops and turn our break room into a studio. We let the customers and sales staff talk about our store and the video company edits it into some great clips. We just started doing it so we have just 2 videos on our site but hopefully add some additional soon. We also created an introduction videos for our salespeople so when they send an email to a new prospect it gives the customer a face with the email.

We are a credit store so naturally we are talking about credit and we try to let our customers do the talking. We are excited about this project and hope to create some strong mini sites to use on some Facebook and Adwords advertising. We hope the professional clips will tell the story about our store and have a higher conversion with the videos.

If you are a new store get your service managers, mechanics, cashiers everyone to explain their jobs and what to expect from the customers. If done right it lets the customers feel like they will know everyone in the store even before the first visit. Naturally if you can get your customers to do the talking the better.

We are trying to redo our website to make it more conversational for the customer also and hopefully this will help. I need to start blogging also but just seem to run out of time.
