We currently use Finance Express for our DMS.  We're an independent dealer that does prime and sub-prime financing but no BHPH.  We're looking to make a change to DealerTrack.  Does anyone have experience using them for their DMS?

Dealer Track does a decent job as a DMS as long as you do not need accounting. Dealer Track can't handle the accounting Side of the business. When you business grows to 100 cars per month or more then I suggest you look at ADP Drive DMS.

My husband uses Dealer Center at his dealership. He did not like DealerTrack for the accounting side of the business.

Have you looked at Frazer.....http://www.frazer.biz

Hi Jayme,

Our company switched over from ADP WebSuite1000 back in 2010 and have never looked back.  We are a high volume independent dealer located in Ohio.  Our combined sales will exceed $50MM this year.  I am the CFO / Controller for the company and I can tell you that DealerTrack's DMS is an absolutely terrific product.  I can assure you that there is nothing lacking in their accounting software.  There is a great deal of flexibility in the individual modules and I believe their integrated reporting abilities to be beyond any other product that is similarly priced.  To top that off their customer service is truly excellent (from number of rings to get to a human being to the amount of time that it takes to resolve an issue).  We consider our vendors as business partners and as one of our partners they have helped us to achieve the distinction of Quality Dealer of the Year 2012 awarded by the NIADA - http://www.usedcardealermagazine.com/t/16546.   If you would like more detailed information you can feel free to email me at jimdandrea@miraclemotormart.com

Congratulations on the NIADA Dealer of the Year. I can see your operation is a top notch but you must of had a different Dealertrack DMS than the one I had, ours was a nightmare. Hours on the phone with support with no results, basic reporting was next to impossible and we found it very confusing for the non CFO type of brains.

It was the single most expensive mistake I have made at my dealership. I know that is strong and I have talked to Dealertrack about it. We switched back to Frazer and its amazing the reports I can get from them compared with Dealertrack and only about $400 a year. Their tech support is amazing and for the smaller dealership it works great.

As we are growing I am still looking for a more complete CRM/FI/DMS system but I can't recommend Dealertrack after my experience with them.

Dynamique Auto Dealer Solutions Inc.

(A DMS with Accounting - all web based)

I don't know if you've heard of Dynamique Auto Dealer Solutions Inc.  I work for them and that's my full disclosure.  It is a Cloud-based system that only requires an internet connection and a standard browser.  The software works like your banking software - it is stored at professionally managed data centers where it is replicated every few minutes to servers on both coasts for Disaster Recovery.  Secure, safe information where you need it when you need it.  It is software that is sold as a subscription service and you stay with Dynamique because you want to, not because you have to.  We like tosay we're "Always Listening, Constantly Improving" and that means you don't have to make a decision to buy the next upgrade version - it comes to you automatically because that subscription provides all updates.  And updating is as simple as logging off and then back on to Dynamique.  The updates are on our servers, so you don' t have to upgrade computes at your site.

Sales Edition is the software option you would benefit from selecting with us.  It is all the front office applications with an additional option of Web-based Accounting.  We also have OEM integration routes and Parts and Service if that is needed in the Enterprise Edition.  Next year we'll have the Group Edition which will include multiple rooftops and reporting down business units among them to slice and dice the performance of the dealerships' businesses.   Check us out at  Dynamique or send a note to Sales@DADSdms.com and we'll get someone to schedule a remote demo with you.

If you're looking for an integrated solution that is Cloud-based, with CRM, Inventory, Desking Tools, Reporting, F&I, and Parts Inventory.  It also integrates with RouteOne, CarFax, AutoCheck, Blackbook,PEN, and especially for you in this case, Acumatica.  Acumatica is also a cloud-based Accountinng Package.

So if someone is at a car auction and has an internet connection and a browser, they could enter in information on the purchased car with the VIN and it would go into the DMS inventory immediately for sale  (or delayed if you has work to be performed-your choice).  Once it goes into inventory, the DMS creates an automatic Journal Entry with the information into your Acumatica account package.  All that accounting has to do is to release the entry and it posts to the accounts that you have designated.  This is based on YOUR GL that you setup in the system.  Also, as vehicles are sold, it will flow back out of inventory and update the Accounting Package again with journal entries and tax information without having to rekey in the information.

Go ahead and schedule a demo - you'll be surprised at how easy it is to book RouteOne partners and aftermarket products with PEN.  Again - you don't have to re-key in that information, it goes directly from the DMS to their systems and returns back into the DMS for record keeping.
